Snow Appointed as New Director of BYU Marriott MBA Program

PROVO, Utah – Jun 22, 2020 – BYU Marriott School of Business dean Brigitte C. Madrian announced the appointment of Daniel C. Snow as the new director for the BYU Marriott MBA programs. Snow returns to BYU Marriott from a faculty position at Oxford’s Saïd School of Business and takes over for Grant McQueen, who recently completed his term. This assignment took effect 15 June.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Dan Snow back to BYU,” Madrian says. “Dan’s passion for student success and learning, coupled with his commitment to the mission and aims of a BYU education, make him an ideal candidate to lead the MBA programs. We look forward to great things from Dan.”

Snow, a researcher and educator in technology and operations management, is a BYU alumnus himself, graduating in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in international relations and in 1998 with an MBA in finance and operations. In addition to teaching at the BYU Marriott School of Business and Oxford’s Saïd School of Business, Snow has taught at several other business schools, including Harvard Business School, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business.

“The BYU Marriott MBA and EMBA programs are world class,” Snow says. “Our faculty and program staff are at the tops of their fields. Our alumni and support network are second-to-none. And the current students are first-rate. Being associated with them is humbling as an alumnus myself.”

McQueen will return to the finance department faculty after a four-year tenure in the MBA program. “We express gratitude for Grant McQueen’s stellar leadership as MBA director,” Madrian says. “Having taught in the MBA program for many years, Grant brought wisdom, experience, and deep insight to his role. Grant’s love for the MBA student community always guided his student-centric program strategy. Grant was often heard saying, 'I don’t teach classes, I teach students.'"

The BYU Marriott School of Business prepares men and women of faith, character, and professional ability for positions of leadership throughout the world. Named for benefactors J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott, the school is located at Brigham Young University, the largest privately owned, church-sponsored university in the United States. BYU Marriott has four graduate and ten undergraduate programs with an enrollment of approximately 3,300 students.
