Anderson Named New IS Department Chair

PROVO, Utah – May 08, 2017 – Marriott School of Management dean Lee Perry has announced Bonnie Anderson as the new chair of the information systems department, effective 1 June.

“Bonnie brings incredible experience from serving in many capacities within the IS department and across campus,” Perry says. “She is a consummate professional. Junior faculty will benefit from her scholarship success, and students will benefit from her commitment to high quality instruction and programs.”

Anderson is a professor in the information systems department and has been the director of the MISM program since 2008. Anderson received the Marriott School Citizenship Award in 2015 and the Faculty Women’s Association Citizenship Award in 2012. Since 2006 she has been the LeAnn Albrecht Fellow. Her current research focuses on the intersection of decision neuroscience and behavioral information security and has been funded by grants from the National Science Foundation and Google.

Anderson will follow Marshall Romney, who retired after forty years at the Marriott School and twelve years as chair of the IS department.

The Marriott School is located at Brigham Young University, the largest privately owned, church-sponsored university in the United States. The school has nationally recognized programs in accounting, business management, entrepreneurship, finance, information systems, and public management. The school’s mission is to prepare men and women of faith, character, and professional ability for positions of leadership throughout the world. Approximately 3,300 students are enrolled in the Marriott School’s graduate and undergraduate programs.
