Camilla Hodge
Dr. Camilla J. Hodge is an assistant professor of Recreation, Park and Tourism Management at Penn State University. Broadly, her research interests focus on the connections between recreation, health, and human development, particularly among families. She earned an M.S. in Youth and Family Recreation from Brigham Young University in 2011, where she was named Outstanding Graduate Student. She worked closely with Dr. Ramon Zabriskie, who is widely known for his research in family leisure, and his development of the Core and Balance Model of Family Leisure Functioning. A paper derived from her thesis research was awarded first place for graduate student papers at the Strengthening the Family Symposium in October 2011. Dr. Hodge earned a Ph.D. in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management from North Carolina State University in 2014, where she was awarded Outstanding Ph.D. Student. Her current research examines connections between sibling recreation and relationship quality, family leisure and resiliency among military families, and applies ecological momentary assessment techniques to these research topics.
