Nominee Info
Jennifer Scherbel
Jennifer is a second-year MBA candidate focusing on entrepreneurship and international business. She is currently the president of the Graduate Entrepreneurship Association (GEA). Scherbel originally hails from Afton, Wyoming. Prior to beginning her MBA studies, she lived in the Bay Area where she first worked as an auditor and later as a finance consultant for PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC). She completed her undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University–Idaho, graduating with a bachelor's degree in accounting and business management. Her love of business comes from her parents and grandparents, who are all entrepreneurs. After graduation, Scherbel will be working in the start up world and ultimately would like to create a few companies of her own. Scherbel intends to open a venture capital fund in Central and South America, drawing on her accounting background and experience during her MBA program in Cougar Capital, a BYU MBA venture fund. Some of Scherbel’s favorite pastimes include helping friends start businesses, traveling the world to experience different cultures, playing sports, assembling LEGO sets, and coaching her ten-year-old niece’s basketball team. There are many things that Scherbel loves about BYU Marriott, but most of all she is grateful for the countless opportunities available and the doors that have been opened because of the service of so many students and faculty members.
