Biography:
Erika was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was raised in Rexburg, Idaho. She attended BYU-Idaho, where she earned a bachelor's degree in social work and worked as a student in Career and Academic Advising. After completing her degree, Erika attended a school of cosmetology and then spent a few years working as a licensed social worker and cosmetologist.
Erika graduated from the BYU MPA program in 2017, with an emphasis in nonprofit management, an emphasis she became interested in after several years of volunteer work with a nonprofit organization in Chicago. While at the BYU Romney Institute, she was involved in the Grantwell program, worked as a teacher’s assistant, and traveled to Ghana to consult with nonprofit organizations. She also worked part-time in the Marriott School Undergraduate Advisement Center, where she continued to develop her love for helping students.
Erika currently works as an advisor for the BYU Academic Support Office, where she serves students who are experiencing significant academic challenges and need access to additional resources. She enjoys coaching and teaching students study and learning skills.
In her spare time, Erika loves traveling, spending time with her husband and family, dancing, and attending sporting events.
