Biography:
During his time as an MPA student, Bill interned at the EPA. Following his graduation in 2009, he returned to the EPA for a full-time job and since then has analyzed a lot of data, managed key projects and allocated hundreds of millions of dollars. All of his efforts in his capacity at the EPA have supported the cleanup of the nation's most toxic waste sites. These hazardous waste sites commonly include manufacturing facilities, processing plants, landfills and mining sites where waste was dumped on the ground or in waterways, left out in the open, or otherwise improperly managed.
Bill and his wife Amy (a class of 2010 BYU MPA grad), never miss a chance to visit the state capitols of the states they visit. Together with their two children, they enjoy biking along the Potomac River with a view of the DC Capitol, the monuments on the National Mall, and airplanes directly overhead. They compost their food waste, participate in trash pickups in their community and try to eat healthy.
Bill develops websites for small businesses and personal interests, and is working to automate estate planning documents for a small business. He plays indoor soccer, frisbee and cycles to work each week. He served an LDS mission in the Scotland Edinburgh Mission from 2002 to 2004 and is currently working on his family history line on the Dutch side of his family.
