Kathy is an Idaho native. She graduated from BYU-Idaho and BYU-Provo with a bachelor’s degree in education and later graduated with a Master of Public Administration from BYU’s Marriott School of Management.

Kathy served an LDS mission to the Chile, Santiago South Mission. After returning home from her mission and finishing her bachelor’s degree, she worked as an executive assistant to a U.S. Senator in Washington, D.C. Kathy and her husband are founders of a business called New Haven, which is a private boarding school and treatment program for adolescent girls. Over the past 15 years, it has grown to other satellite programs across the country and serves families and young women throughout the world. It is highly esteemed in the industry and has a national reputation for its innovative and quality treatment.

She has served in many LDS stake and ward callings in the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary auxiliaries. Kathy and her late husband, Mark, have four “yummy” children. Being a mother is her most important “work in progress” and she hopes it will be her “crowning achievement” in this life. Kathy is having the most fun being at home with her children and supporting them in all their activities. Her favorite hobbies now consist of attending swim meets, basketball games, or whatever other exciting surprises might come along with her family.
