Students from Utah high schools along the Wasatch Front tested their language and business skills in the third annual High School Language Competition hosted by the Whitmore Global Management Center/BYU CIBER and the Center for the Study of Europe at Brigham Young University.

A Brigham Young University student business may have created the perfect solution for those who are always searching in vain for a parking spot. At the second-annual International Business Model Competition, XoomPark won the grand prize of $12,000 cash for its idea of a parking reservation website. XoomPark bested five other teams at the competition, sponsored by the Rollins Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology.

Competing against nine other teams, Indiana University took top honors at BYU's fifth Business Language Case Competition. This year the event, held Nov. 11, challenged students to apply their Spanish skills to critical business decisions.

This spring 25 EMBA students put their jobs on hold in the Western United States to participate in the first-ever EMBA foreign business excursion to the Middle East.

This spring 55 BYU students received the Global Management Certificate from the Whitmore Global Management Center. These graduates join an elite group of more than 300 certificate recipients in the last five years.

The U.S. Department of Education awarded Brigham Young University a four-year $1.55 million grant to continue as a Center for International Business Education and Research school.
